Low-dose Estrogen Effective for Metastatic Breast Cancer

Using estrogen-lowering drugs is a treatment method for controlling metastatic breast cancer. This breast cancer treatment approach is not always effective for women with metastatic breast cancer. A new cancer study conducted at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis reported that raising estrogen levels for women whose metastatic breast cancer no longer responded to standard anti-estrogen treatment may stop the metastatic breast cancer progression.
